Chapter 7: Hong Kong, China SAR GMT +8

No - SAR means Special Administrative Region & existed before the disease!
Hong Kong Postcard

Must see: Victoria Peak, Culture Museum, Repulse Bay & Stanley, nighttime laser light show

Longer version!
We have arrived safely in HK - it is a beautiful city, much cleaner &
quieter than all our years of reading had led us to expect!
The trip was surprisingly uneventful (we had been dreading the length, but fortunately the nighttime scheduling worked well in our favor).

Downside - we somehow fried our motherboard when we got to HK (power conversion, giggling in the backpack on the journey, who knows?) Fortunately, we were able to get it fixed & picked it up just before leaving HK. Bottomline, have not been able to upload photos.

And what a set of photos they will be! We spent a busy few days. The time change played havoc w my body clock, though the kids adjusted well & fast. For instance, I fell asleep, literally, on my feet watching the kids enjoy the space museum.
Shopping was a lot of fun if you are into window shopping or bargaining - but the exchange rate is really hurting us.

The Museum of History is a must see - we wish we hadnt saved it for the last few hours; we loved the ride to Stanley Market to shop! The city is a riot of old and new architecture. But what the kids remember most are all the water falls -- all the links to nature amid the steel & technology.
